A chevy V8 in a Model A, is it possible? Hello!
Not too long ago I purchased a 1929 Model A rolling chassis. This is my first time ever building a car. I was planning on finding an A Banger when a friend gave me a 283 chevy small block from a '65 Impala. The engine is solid and I would like to put it on the frame. I know I will have to some work to the frame. Any tips or comments? Thanks, Panda |
Re: A chevy V8 in a Model A, is it possible? People have been doing this for generations. Its pretty common. For hot rod help try this site:

Re: A chevy V8 in a Model A, is it possible? It's possible, I have seen 454's stuffed into an A. This site is dedicated to restoration though, so you may want to try the HAMB with questions relating to a swap like that. :)

-hamb -chev 3 speed -chev rearend -boxed frame good luck FYI- mid 60s had '30 roadster with 265 chev , great fun to drive! |
Re: A chevy V8 in a Model A, is it possible? Chevy V-8 in a Model A is being done everyday. Don't know anybody in the last twenty years that still used the original Model A frame except for a couple rat rodders however. It's way to flimsy. 283 is a great engine.
