33-34 and 35-36 coupe trunk hinges Hi Guys:
If anyone would know, I figured it would be here: What are the differences between the two hinge assemblies, and can the 35-36 be adapted to a 34? The 34 hinges are very difficult to find right now, I figured if the 36 stuff would work it would widen my options. Thanks in advance guys, Dave |
Re: 33-34 and 35-36 coupe trunk hinges I have no idea, but would be interested in the answer.

Re: 33-34 and 35-36 coupe trunk hinges I've just been going thru this, myself. From what I have found, the cast pivot blocks that mount on the body are the same between 33-34 and 35-36 coupe hinges But the "U" sharped cast pivot arms that fasten to the lids are a little different. The 33-34 pivot arms seem to be a little shorter between the lid mounting flange and the pivot point.
I do now have an extra set of 33-34 trunk hinges that I would consider doing some trading for the correct 35-36 trunk type. The 33-34 pivot arms usually have a readable visible "40" part number cast in them and The 35-36 type have a "48" number. |
Re: 33-34 and 35-36 coupe trunk hinges Barn Find got most of the differences, the other main one is the holes for mounting to the deck lid on 1933-34 are sized for #12-24, and 1935-36 is 5/16-24.
There is a very good chance that repro hinges will be readily available early next year for the 1933-34, a bit later for 1935-36. |
