Re: O.T. Biggest Pet Peeve In pre 1953... 1. Mustang II front ends on open fender cars.
2. The entire Rat Rod concept.. |
Re: O.T. Biggest Pet Peeve In pre 1953... The "restored" 32-4 pickups with wood floors..........pure crap.

Re: O.T. Biggest Pet Peeve In pre 1953... Ya the modern 80s tilt stearing wheel always says to me. How am I going to fix that...
There are some good aftermarket products available to give you the driving "experience" and safety, if that's what your looking for, but without looking like crap. |

Re: O.T. Biggest Pet Peeve In pre 1953... People that gripe about my 350/350, 72 Chevy truck tilt column, Chrysler brake and gas pedal and bucket seats out of same. Do have a Ford 8 rear and front end. 1940 Chevy tail lights. Maybe I'm in the wrong forum. More of a HAMM?
Oh well different strokes for different folks.:) |
Re: O.T. Biggest Pet Peeve In pre 1953... Not really HAMB material either, suggest street rod forums, HAMB is more "traditional" hot rod than street rod. This part of this forum is pointed towards the flathead years. And mostly stock stuff at that. Sure it's evolved to encompass built flatheads and some old style modifications. Still mostly stock Ford's from the flathead years.

Re: O.T. Biggest Pet Peeve In pre 1953... I hate the rubberband tire and wheel combination some use. My '51 Merc. is stock and Flathead powered. My '30 coupe is chopped, channeled, and Has a Y-Block in it with a 9" Ford rear, C-4 auto, '36 dash 32 grill and shell. All Ford except the tail lights and they were on it when I bought it. they are Pontiac. I prefer 46-48 Ford tail lights

Last night was the Best...2015 Mustang with Wide whites........just as lame as this |
Re: O.T. Biggest Pet Peeve In pre 1953... I'm glad for the streetrodders...Their castaways add more usable vintage parts to the mix...I'm looking around locally now for a running flathead for my 34 Pickup. Someone will yank one in favor of a 350 soon enough. And they're paying the bills so I don't care what they build. Everything can usually be un-done down the road anyway...
I do have a major dislike of Ratrods....absolutely can't stand them. Not talking about unfinished or primered nicely built traditional hot rods, but the ones with scary welds, wrenches for steering arms, barbed wire, diamond plate and expanded metal all over....and skulls...lots of skulls. |
Re: O.T. Biggest Pet Peeve In pre 1953... How bout the guy who brings 2013 vette (looked like from car lot to car show) then looks at flathead and says "those run hot and are slow"
SO?????:) |
