Clutch and brake bumper Dumb question. The rubber bumpers on the clutch and brake rods -- aren't the rods supposed to move through them? In other words shouldn't they be affixed to the firewall somehow? Or do they move in and out with the rods (that's what mine do, seems odd).

Re: Clutch and brake bumper On my '37 they are not affixed to the firewall. They are '39 rods,& move in & out w/the rods.

Re: Clutch and brake bumper Thanks, I knew you all would have the answer. It seems wonky because the clutch bumper goes down and squishes kind of sideways against the frame rail.

Re: Clutch and brake bumper Can you trim the bumper? Or glue it to floor board with Contac cement?

Re: Clutch and brake bumper On my '390 Pickup, I seem to have engine mount-like biscuits mounts to the angled steel floor board. Also a sheet of foam.
