New fangled water pumps

Anyone have experience with the ceramic seal, bearing based water pumps? Thoughts?

Not yet but I have a couple to install on the 40 motor that's in my 35 5W cp. I'm worried about the bolts that are inside the pump area and if they'll come out OK.

They usually do come out fine. If the bolt head is loose fit in the socket, take a metric socket and tap it on the rusted bolt for a tight fit.

Use 6 point socket. NOT 12pt.

The new pumps are excellent. We sell them and I have used and stocked all three brands. they all work perfect. My 40 ran consideralbly cooler with them

And if the bolt head gets buggered up you can try to bang a metric socket on the bolt head. Again 6 point not 12 as stated by KiWinUS.

Ive been running the Drake pumps for nearly ten years daily , no issues at all.
Use stainless steel bolts and coat them.

I installed a pair of Denis Carpenter pumps on my '46, 59AB, a couple of years ago. They are performing well, no leaks and good temperatures. The impeller design is of the "closed" design, which is more efficient than the original "open" type. The only issues I had, was that one of the pumps had a cracked pulley when I received it, which I didn't notice until I sprayed on the primer paint. DC replaced the faulty pump with no questions. The other thing was, and only because I am very picky, is that the casting surrounding the bolt holes were not spot faced, to make them smooth and parallel to the back face. Ten minutes with an end mill and perfecto.
