1941 Ford/Mercury radio I recently purchased a 1941 radio for my 41 Mercury. How do I tell if its A Philco or a Zenith? I have some of the antenna for it. Is there a picture anywhere that shows the complete antenna assembly with a breakdown of the parts? Sorry if this is posted somewhere as I'm a newbie.

Re: 1941 Ford/Mercury radio The case usually has a sticker. Sometimes it is on the radio dial. The antenna has a wire with a RCA-style plug on it that plugs into the radio chassis. Another wire coming out of the chassis goes to a inlinefuse and then to the cold side of the ign switch The antenna base should have some kind of 1/2 ball on allow for installation on the cowl. The antenna mounts on the right side of the car

Re: 1941 Ford/Mercury radio Thanks for your reply. There is no sticker visible to me. Is there some other way to determine who made it?
The antenna I have mounted on the roof. I should have mentioned that. I need a picture to determine what is missing. Somebody must know the answer to this. I would appreciate it. |
