I'll bet the reason it is still in the junkyard is that they are asking an astronomical price. "NewC" had a post on here recently about a bunch of flatheads available in a scrap yard in Oregon. The post was also used to start a thread on the "H.A.M.B.". Some one who knows the owner of the yard posted over there that the owner wasn't even interested in talking price until "hunting season was over". I'm sure there will be no bargains.

The guys running these yards didn't get where they are by giving stuff away.

That is "model T haven" in Iola Kansas. his main business has always been model T's , but years ago when they were no longer coming up at farm auctions he started buying what ever he though he could sell. I was just there last winter, tons and tons of derelict T body parts that are scrap really. Much of his business was piecing T's together for sales in Europe. Without question most yard owners are pretty sharp and know what they are doing to make money.

The flip of this I just don't get the mindset. I believe the story goes the guy has to sell or the stuff will go to scrap. Someone comes along and is willing to purchase a lot of engines of unknown condition and the guy says come back after hunting season?

I just don't get it.

Unfortunately the cost of "restoration" and finding the "missing" pieces would far exceed the the value of it, I would imagine......NOT that it is any reason to scrape it by ANY means BUT it lends credence to the fact that the "asking" price is too much for amount to be spent to restore it!!! NOT seeing the whole car, I wonder IF the "missing pieces" part of the equation "MIGHT" be the bigger issue? IF the price was right I sure would give it a shot myself!!!!

No more oil heat for us. We have gas. I wish I had oil. Hot water baseboard heat is the best.

Is that white paint under the black? Or, bare metal......I saw a Lincoln about that vintage back in the 60s in a woods in Marblehead Ohio with lots of paint gone. It had to have been stainless or .... no rust anywhere. It vanished in the next couple years & no body knew what happened to it.

Like nearly all the of the pre-'40 big Lincolns, its body sheet metal is aluminum with a serious amount of hardwood structure underneath.

It could also be either a '38 or '39 as all three years' of the end of big Lincoln production are virtually the same.
