3 speed removal in a 1948 f1 I have read that the transmissions are to be removed from the top. I have looked underneath and I swear there isn't enough room to move the rear of the transmission back enough for the input shaft at the front to clear the pressure plate and come straight up. The cross member seems to be in the way. Who has actually done this?

Re: 3 speed removal in a 1948 f1 It comes up through the floor...driveshaft..speedo wire and clutchlinkage has to go first.
Handbrake cable is a bit in the way but works with a bit of wrestling. Put a jack under rear of engine. Done it several times. |
