Carb question Hi Guys, My question is can I run 1 carb on my 2 carb std. manifold? I want to test a few 97’s and a few 94’s. and plan to block off the front carb. Will it work?

Re: Carb question First question : is the manifold a regular or a "Super" (one carb over each set of ports)? Probably won't work too well with a "Super" but there are some manifolds I have seen where it might work. The ones I am thinking of have the carbs biased towards the rear of the manifold, so you would be better off blocking off the back carb,

Re: Carb question Hi Tubman, I have a regular manifold and I just blocked off the rear carb. The front carb is right where a stock manifold is. Will try it tomorrow.

Re: Carb question That will probably work. Let us know how it turns out. I believe that you can run progressive linkage on those types of manifolds with dual carbs.

Re: Carb question I've done this with many different intakes. AS long as there is a balance tube between the carbs, not a problem. The probably might arise when making WOT Power.

Re: Carb question What is a balance tube?

Re: Carb question I think Ol' Ron means as long as the air path for both carbs are internally connected in the manifold runners, there is no problem.

Re: Carb question Cranked it up today and ran fine. Will have to test on the road for power and smooth transition when pulling a load. It idles just fine and seems to have good throttle response.
