Lawson, How are you doing?

Hi Lawson ,
How's the progress on those shackle bushings?

Lawson, I feel your pain. We can still work on these old Fords just not at the pace or with the strength we once did. We get there in the end just takes a little longer.

It's a nice warm day here and molasses are pouring nicely. As some of us old codgers say, I'm within the width of a red ..... of getting the spring where I want/need it to be to insert the links. Tolerances are mighty close I am finding out. I believe someone above said something about replacing shackle bushings in 20 minutes. All I can say to that is, MY ARSS. LOL

Still working on final adjustments. I was sitting in my Morris chair after supper and a big light bulb went off in my head. I went down to the shop and adjusted the jack stands and spring spreader and I hit a triple. It woulda been a homer, but a tool slipped and I buggered up the back of my left hand, big time. Luckily I had a first aid kit handy. I got the bleeding stopped and just cut off the lights and came back up to the house for the night. I will get the bushings, well the links in tomorrow and buckle everything up if the V8 gods are with me. We need to establish a Flathead Purple Heart ribbon for those of us wounded in action. I would have a chest full. LOL. The saga continues.

You're at the point where we in Texas would say: "All I lack is finishin'-up"! DD

Gloves Lawson....Gloves. They make some now you can actually do work with while wearing them. I resisted for a long time but got tired of bleeding.
Heal up and get back at it.

Re: Lawson, How are you doing?

Duce Roadster, I've tried gloves over and over but just haven't found any I can work in.

FINALLY, I have the bushings in and the task complete. Now all I have to do is get Apatchy off of the jack stands and back on his feet. Feelin' good about the job.

Thanks for all of the hints and encouragement along the way.

I did too, I just didn't think it would take this long. Thanks for the help.
