Not sure how many 6 Wheel Equipped 1934 Fords of any body style were made. Above are pictures of Two 1934 Ford Sedans that I know of that originally came from the Factory with 6 Wheel Equipment. The top 2 cars are one in the same. this car was built during the change over from 1933 models to 1934 update, and as such has many parts from 1933. The car with the red wheels shows it as purchased, and was a low mileage survivor, but the new owner wanted to fully restore it, and the Creme and Tan car is the result. The Chocolate coloured Sedan is also a Factory Built Car sporting 6 wheel equipment. There are not too many with 6 Wheel Equipment. |

Here are pictures of two 1934 Ford Coupes with the Six Wheel equipment. as with the Sedans, Coupes with 6 Wheel Equipment are also very rare. It is common to see Australian Ford Sedans, Couples, Phaetons and Roadsters with the Spare in the Passenger Side Fender, but it is rare to see these cars with 6 Wheel Equipment. |

While it is not apparent at first glance, this Australian 1934 Ford Roadster that now lives in New Zealand does fact sport 6 Wheel Equipment. In these photos, the Wheels are not in the Fender Wells. but you can see the Spare Tyre mounts. It also sports the extended Tail Light Stems, that were a requirement on cars in New South Wales. |
Re: 1934 Ford deluxe 6 wheel equip Aussie This topic came up in old editions of ''Restored Cars'' [ no. 20 Jan. Feb. 1977, Australia].
The cars were 5W Coupes [Australian built] & 6 were apparently made for Ford Exec.s The one in the above edition was then in NSW with 59K miles. I also recall another one featured that I think was in Sth Australia at the time. This should be a good one for Mercman to further investigate & put up some pic.s Mr. Husheers '34 Deluxe as mentioned by Trevo, was unusual & also featured originally artillery type [non Ford] wheels, since removed. He bought it while waiting for either one of his usual Pierce Arrow, Studebaker or other top line cars he had chauffeur driven around Napier in the Thirties. Interestingly, his daughter had 1 of 3 only 1929 Deluxe Cabriolets imported to NZ. A pic. of it turns up amongst the earthquake photos in Napier in 1931 where it is surrounded by destruction in a street scene. |
Re: 1934 Ford deluxe 6 wheel equip Aussie thanks for the replies guys, sounds like it may be a rare car?.now i just have to have it transported 3000 kms to my driveway..
