Oil gallery plug to 8ba Hi. I’m building a 8ba , and need new oil gallery plugs. I live in Norway and don’t have many shops to by inch treads bolts and flathead parts at all. Any one knows where to by I’ll be glad.

Re: Oil gallery plug to 8ba No, that is for the earlier engine, but 3rd Gen will have the right one.

Re: Oil gallery plug to 8ba 1 Attachment(s)
The stock plug has a screw driver slot but one can be made by using an allen pipe plug, making sure to remove material from it to prevent it from hitting the timing gear

" I live in Norway and don’t have many shops to by inch treads bolts" Availability in Norway is the problem. Our inch based hardware isn't so common there. Having said that, a 3/8-19 BSP tapered plug may fit if the threads in the block are chased with the proper tap. Yes, some thread damage will result, but I'll bet it would be fine. |

Might not be available at the corner hardware store but a search online will yield results. |

Re: Oil gallery plug to 8ba The amount of leakage from the different thread pitches will be insignificant.
It is standard practice to drill a .040 (1mm) hole in the plug on high performance engines. (to oil the gear) |

By all means do NOT do any odd size re-tapping. The plugs are available. |
Re: Oil gallery plug to 8ba Thanks for answer . So treads are 3/8-19 thanks .
