Model a Coupe Roll up rear window Good Morning! I saw a video recently of a Model A Coupe with a Roll up/down rear window. I have never seen this before in one of these cars or maybe just never noticed. I dug into it a bit and found a few more examples, not a lot mention of them online, but some. Are these all aftermarket conversions? Did any A's come with roll up windows in the rear? This certainly would be a nice feature to have in mine. Not that I'll be cutting into mine to install it.

Re: Model a Coupe Roll up rear window According to the Judging Standards "A roll down rear window was standard equipment on Deluxe Coupes and Standard Coupes ordered with a rumble seat after June 1931.The roll down window was also available as a factory option on Standard Coupes without a rumble seat during the same period"

Re: Model a Coupe Roll up rear window Besides ventalation, the window works well in allowing conversation between the rumble seat and cab.

Re: Model a Coupe Roll up rear window I have seen electrically controlled rear window that utilize the original handle so just looking you would think it was all stock. Very nice option and makes rolling the window up or down a breeze. Pun intended

Re: Model a Coupe Roll up rear window If you are considering installing a roll down window, check Mile's Affordable site, there is a explanation with diagrams of how to do it.

Re: Model a Coupe Roll up rear window Interesting. I thought that was standard on all coupes. At least it seems all of the ones I have ever seen have had them.

Re: Model a Coupe Roll up rear window As I recall, the earlier coupes have a flange you have to cut off so the window can roll down. This is usually never mentioned when people discuss this conversion.

Re: Model a Coupe Roll up rear window Do they actually roll down all the way,or only partway? I've never really paid attention to them, but have been thinking about putting one in my coupe.I had one in a 30 Chevy coupe years ago,but it only rolled down about two thirds.I have no idea if it was factory or aftermarket.

Re: Model a Coupe Roll up rear window Keith , I installed one in my coupe, the window goes down about 2/3 . The window goes down into a metal narrow box that has a short metal tube drain in it with a flex hose exiting into the wheel well . For the window to open completely the drain box would be in the way of knees getting in and out. This is a very good option to instal , you won't be disappointed .
