Re: Looking for a clear oil... I have seen clock oil that was clear . I was also told that musical instruments use a clear oil . Maybe you are looking for oil for the crankcase? Norm

Re: Looking for a clear oil... AeroShell Straight Mineral Oil, used as break-in oil on new or newly overhauled piston aircraft engines.

Re: Looking for a clear oil... As Tacoma Bob mentioned, sewing machine oil is the clearest mineral oil I've used. The old 2380 Turbo oil that is an ester based synthetic used to be clear but I think it has more of an amber tint now days.
