My Early Ford Store Adventure
 

Imagine my surprise when I searched "Early Ford Store" on the Ford Barn and it didn't bring up any threads with photos of this amazing place. So I thought I'd share my visit from last Thursday with you guys. Truely an awesome place and I don't even own a Ford! lol Oh yeah, and the guys there are super friendly and knowledgable too.

I tell ya what if they don't have it you don't need it;)

They are located on a cute little main street in San Dimas, CA. If you blink you might miss the store front. Lots of free parking in the back.

All in all a wonderful visit to a great business. I would highly recommend a stop if you're in the area OR if you need a part give them a hollar.

great pics....looks like they changed the cars that were in there before and spiffed the place up.....from last time i was there, a couple years or so ago....thanks for posting.....it is a great place to look....lol.....Mike

My wife and I toured the EFS on Friday. I couldn't carry on a coherent conversation for the rest of the day. My wife walked out and went antiquing in the village and I didn't even know she was gone! I did buy some ignition parts while there and a great T-shirt.

I stopped in there last week when i went to the Grand National Roadster Show. Great place, and man have they got the goods. Alot of patina in there.

That's my most favorite Ford store ever. If I'm even close I'll stop by just to see the new finds. Great treatment of their customers as well, top notch all the way around.

Bill & Mike (father & son) are great folks. I get underfoot there everytime I go out for the Roadster (June) show. Thanks for posting. And yes, Mike in AZ, looks like they rotated the rolling stock.

I was there Friday too before the GNRS show opened up. Didn't see ya Denise but did see AV8 Pauls roadster in the parking lot behind the store. Pure EFV8 bliss here fellas and gals. My buddy's had to pry me away. Even heard the police are close to catching the guy that stole the Frenzel supercharger, but no word on the Frenzel itself. So I wanted to meet the owner but he was up in Turlock attending the swap meet. No doubt to add more Flathead stuff to his store!

I glad you guys are enjoying the thread.

We hit the EFS late afternoon cuz I had a participants pass so we got into the show early on Friday which is what I like to do that way I can take some photos before the crowd arrives.

Deep, cold and wet :p

They didn't seem that bad but then again I don't make it a habit of buying FORD parts.:D The guy I was with didn't complain about the prices of the stuff he bought if that is any indication.

I really would like a '32 Oldsmobile roadster built in a traditional hot rod style but alas unless I want to give up all the traveling I do with my disposable income it's not going to happen and I can't see myself not traveling for a few years just to save money for another car.

Perhaps a boyfriend with an old Ford might be the ticket huh?? :D

Denise, You may be on to something! :D I think it'd be a pretty major feat to match the style/quality of Big Olds. I checked it out a bunch one afternoon at the Nugget... it's gorgeous.

Anyway... this place could use a little bit of your touch.

Ignore the name...they run/ran multiple early Ford product lines out of there with a lot of different names. Phone # may or may not still be right (check Elmo Rodge/search HAMB if enlightenment needed), and they are still waiting to see if the computer fad is worth checking out.
Half museum, half unusual speeed equipment/parts store, nothing you'll see elsewhere and far better than Disneyland.
I have dealt with the place since the early '60s...they were an enigma even then. When I finally got to visit, I chose them over the Petersen in my limited time in LA, and have NO regrets.

(PS...if you have Megan along, they sell everything she has ever imagined for her Model A)
