Hi Marc, does moving Oshkosh to 2021 have any impact on the original site for the 2021 meet in Charlottesville Virginia? Does Charlottesville get moved to 2022, or are there 2 meets in 2021?

Until this virus scare lessens considerably or altogether it would seem logical to cancel all meets. Both for the safety of the participants and the health of the general population. This can hardly be considered to be a necessary gathering. I’ve always seen it as a fund raiser for the national organization. Our hobby will get on just fine without it. Maybe I’m wrong but that is indeed my opinion!

I think it is awfully too soon to be cancelling things that are happening later this year. I think people should wait it out and revisit it when the time gets closer.

It may be just a fundraiser to you but I, as well as a lot of others really enjoy the meets and are willing and able to help the national clubs raise funds. I will consider it to be a necessary gathering after the panic subsides...Just my opinion...:)

I have attended six national meets and have had a great time at every one.

To all the people who have already worked on Oshkosh for this year, THANK YOU!

To all the people who will work on Oshkosh for 2021, THANK YOU!

To all the people who have planned and worked on Charlottesville for 2021, THANK YOU!

To all the people who will plan and work on Charlottesville for 2022, THANK YOU !

We must all recognize that the people who make national meets possible are volunteers. The office staff, of course, help tremendously, but the volunteers make it possible. This is the second year in a row that something outside the control of the host club has caused the work to be doubled for the hosts. They came through with flying colors last year, and they will this year. Please don't criticize the work these people do. Just enjoy it, and show your gratitude.

Or stay home if it is not your cup of tea; and don't criticize those who make it possible, and those who enjoy it.

W. Michael

I did not criticize anyone! I said it was not a necessity and our hobby will get along just fine without it. Please do not read a meaning into my post that is not there. The volunteers do wonderful work and I said nothing to the contrary. In times of a National Emergency this meet is not a priority event. When thousands of people are dieing of a horrendous virus we can't lose sleep over a cancelled car hobby event!

Over 2000 people died in the United States yesterday from the Corona Virus. I can't honestly get at all excited about a cancelled car meet. Let's put everything in perspective!
