Not sure what you need, specifically. Does this help any? This is a RIGHT, REAR. LARGE end of wheel cylinder ALWAYS toward front of vehicle. Brake shoe with LONGER lining ALWAYS toward front of vehicle. Driver side is mirror image. Also, make sure axle and tapered axle hole in the brake drum hub is SQUEEKY-CLEAN and DRY....NO LUBRICANT! What do you need specifically? We can help! DD https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...4&d=1614532366 |
Re: '46 Ford Pickup e brake installation/diagram are you looking for the cable pivot connections?

Re: '46 Ford Pickup e brake installation/diagram I have a new cable to install but I'm not sure of the routing through the firewall and back
to the equalizer with three attachment arms. One for the main cable going from the hand pull lever under the dash, and the two arms which each have a separate cable going back to each rear brake. And then the connections where the cables pass through the rear backing plates, there seems to be two different styles. One with a cast keeper which screws onto the back of the backing plate to anchor the cable at that position, which may be the early style (1946) and another style which has a set screw that locks the cable at that point on the backing plate where it passes through to the connection to the arm that pulls the rear shoe tight against the drum. This one is perhaps a later version. I ended up with both and am wondering if my cable would be interchangeable with both versions of securing the cable going through the backing plate. ( I wish I would have taken more detailed pics ) Any thoughts will be appreciated. |
Re: '46 Ford Pickup e brake installation/diagram As far as the firewall goes, I think the cable just goes out alongside the steering column, then kinda bends over to the right side and then back.
