Walt Dupont

! Met with Walt Dupont this PM. He is alive and well as can be expected for 85 years young. Has some pretty serious non correctable back issues, and the ravages of age have fogged his memory somewhat. He is still building engines, but has everything double checked by his 67 year old son-in-law. He was working on his “Lo-40” that he built 45 years ago..four carbed flathead. Yesterday, he and his wife took the “B” powered “A” for a “near” 200 mile run...figured he used 10 gallons of gas !. Part of the run was in downpours and showers, says it never leaked a drop.
He no longer uses a land line, and has stopped contributing to FORD BARN or other forms of information....people were asking ‘too many stupid questions” that could be easily accessed on internet. His unofficial shop hours are 9:30 AM to noon, takes a break, and 2:00 PM to 4:00 or so.. He has four, and one on the work in progress stand. finished engines on the floor...3 V-8’s and one “B”. . No more removal & install, strictly cash and carry on your engine.

Thank you for the information on Walt. Glad to hear he's still working on Flathead engines and enjoying his old Ford's.

Fortunately, I'm glad to hear that Walt is still enjoying generally good health and his old Fords. UNFORTUNATELY, it sounds like he had enough of the inconsiderate and simpleminded ingrates that wasted his valuable time and knowledge. The best to ya, Walt! DD

Walt built my Roadster engine years back. A very strong running motor.

Go Walt! :)

Re: Walt Dupont

His 40 coupe when he had the McCulloch super charger was the inspiration for my engine. Somewhere I have a picture of Walt next to the car, I'll look for it. Great he is doing well.
