Mart's broken pickup Pt4: I get it fixed! VIDEO I just uploaded the final part of the 41 pickup axle repair series. The repair went well and I had the cameras rolling, though not without the usual problems. I do feel I have improved the lighting and sound, by and large. I try and show the interesting bits and flash over the repetitive stuff. I have included any tips and insights I shared while working. I spent more time editing this video that doing the job.
Of particular interest to Barners (hopefully) will be the bits showing the lapping of the hub to the shaft, fitting the shackles and pulling the backing plate over the shaft. Also some things to take into consideration when filling the axle with oil. Please give honest feedback and let me know which bits work and which bits don't. The Jury's out on the damaged gasket. I do plan on tearing it down again to fix it but didn't want to delay this video to include it. Anyhoo let me know what you think. Mart. https://youtu.be/MOVxQP0aZhg |

Re: Mart's broken pickup Pt4: I get it fixed! VIDEO Thanks cas. When I look at it I wished I had cleaned up properly and not left those bits of rubbish along the edge. Getting the hang of the editing software is part of the job.
