Re: 1934 Ford rear end gear oil Of course it will work..question do you want to do that ? I use off the self auto parts 85-140 seems to work fine..I have run 30 wt motor oil in manual trans before and it works fine ,a little noisy maybe..model A era they used heavy oil..150 wt +-..sc

Re: 1934 Ford rear end gear oil A period lubrication chart (1932-1935) list: Extreme Pressure (EP), Winter SAE 90 or 110, Summer SAE 160 for the rear axle. If you are wanting to use the same lube in the transmission then Mild EP would work for both (GL-4 in todays ratings). And if you are not wanting to change gear lube with the seasons run a multi-viscosity lubricant.
