Juice brake question

Question on juice brake conversion: Does anyone know what the finished measurement should be on the 40's backer plates. The green books says to remove about an 1/8" from the outer lip. I can't tell if mine have had the 1/8" removed already.

Try mounting one and see if drum hits.
