Correct black paint for starter, gen., oil pan, etc.

The engine out of my 29 Tudor is out in Skokie being rebuilt. While everything is off - I figured now is the best time to paint the black stuff. Would Rustoleum gloss black be close to original? I'm not going for a high point show car, but at this stage I would like the engine to be close color wise. Thanks

I like the Rustoleum gloss or semi-gloss black.

That works for me but I have been told that the semi-gloss is more correct. Maybe others will chime in that know something. Jack

I use Rustoleum black engine paint. It's good for 500 degrees the last I looked.

Good choice on AER in Skokie ! Most any rattle can engine paint will be good,
gloss black over time may become faded, dirty, etc.

I like the look of the Rustoleum semi gloss.

Thanks to all! I think I'm going to go with the Rustoleum semi-gloss black.

I use VHT semi gloss. Everyone's different.

There was no exact formula for black on the chassis and ect. What I was always told was to pick a black color and stick with it .

Factory Sprayed parts were more semi-gloss. Factory Dipped parts were gloss black. The paint guide explains what was dipped/sprayed or even brushed
