Clutch Issue On My `35 My`35 Cabriolet has been sitting for awhile and now the clutch won't release. The pedal travel is good, just won't release. It was fine when parked. Thanks.

Re: Clutch Issue On My `35 Some recommend jacking the rear end up, block the clutch pedal down, run the engine in high gear to 20-30 mph, and repeatedly jab the brakes. I found on a tractor that blocking the clutch pedal down for several days allowed it to release after one jab where repeated attempts failed before.
If you have an open, safe space you can drive it doing the same procedure. By the way, I've missed you here on the'Barn. |
Re: Clutch Issue On My `35 DO THIS OUT IN THE OPEN, WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF CAR ! ! !
Jack-up the rear axle on jack stands, with the tires just off the ground. Start engine in 3rd gear. Push clutch pedal down. Rev-up to 25-30 mph. Let off the gas pedal, then SLAM-on the brakes (MAKE-SURE clutch is depressed). May have to do it more than once. It WILL break-free. DD |
Re: Clutch Issue On My `35 Thanks `40 Cpe and V8COOPMAN. I will try this procedure in the Spring. In the meantime I'll try blocking the clutch pedal down.
Believe me, I have missed the 'Barn too! |
