That's too funny, I just saw that pic on the wall at KFC yesterday at lunch and thought it was pretty cool. Given the fact that the model A was a very popular auto, I would say there was a great chance that he did in fact drive one, however my guess is that is a publicity photo from at least the 50's, maybe even the 60's.

Looks like a picture/still from the TV show "The Real McCoys". Recently saw a re-run - had to turn it off, not a very good show.


Could play likeable characters and also SOB characters and was believable in both types of roles.

I recognize many of the names, but a new generation would go "Robert Wadlow" and go "who?"

But a new generation is challenged by a dial telephone.

Yes he was they had a write up about him and his Model A once in The Restorer!

A picture from the 50's had one of the Rockefellers in a Model A also but I'm sure that was purely political, one of the 'hey I'm just the same as you chumps' a regular guy kinda thing.

I also read once that Harlan Sanders had Tourette Syndrome where he'd start screaming out obscenities out of the clear blue, he couldn't control it!!

The Wing Commander at Edwards AFB was issued a government-owned Model A coupe back in the 50s. It was always passed down to the next commander with the understanding that it was his responsibility to keep it maintained. Always wondered what ever happened to it. Probably auctioned off at some point in a surplus sale. Anybody know ?

The pic of the Colonel probably from the '70's & the car does not have all the fashionable dodahs seen on Model A's nowadays.
Re the phaeton & no spare in fender, do not think the later tyres fit the well gap.

Could be the phaeton still had a spare on the back plus as it is a LHD car it most likely has a spare on the left as well !!! I have 5.25/5.50 x 17 tyres on my P/U and the spare fits the fender well no problem but no room to spare so 16" would not fit .

I'm almost sure I remember seeing a Real McCoy's show with the Mexican hired hand driving a 28 or 29 phaeton. The one shown here is a 1931 I think. Must have had to up date somewhere in the show.

I don't know about that, you can go to YouTube and see the initial episode and they are in a 30-31....but maybe they traded backwards at some point.
