What is the Tallest Tire I Can Run On a 19" Wheel?

Will these work on a 19" A wheel?

Thank you in advance!

How wide are the 19"s? Got room to turn a 31.25 without hitting brake rods or fender?

Stock A wheels. If I remember right they are 3-1/4 - 3-1/2" wide? I would be using them on the back.

Interesting that the picture shown is of a V8 wheel and tire, not a model A wheel. Proportions will be off. Don't see why you couldn't run it. JMO

I thought the same thing about the V-8 wheel. I am new to A's. What is the stock tire size for a '30-'31? 5.00-19"?

Yep! I totally mistyped that. I have '29's on the brain today. I did in fact mean '30-'31 and will edit the post accordingly. Thanks!

Help us to help you. What are you trying to accomplish here?

Short answer no, those tires are too wide for stock 19" A rims.

Just a little taller tire on a 19" A rim is all. My concern was that these were too much tire for the wheel.

The tires should go right on a 19 Model A wheel, assuming you have gone to the expense of having a shop widen the wheel first. The wheel looks like an aftermarket wire wheel designed for the wider tire. Be sure to consider that the larger tires might hit the fender and that they won't fit in a side mount well. What are you trying to accomplish?

Re: What is the Tallest Tire I Can Run On a 19" Wheel?

I think that stock photo is deceiving. I am running 7.50-16" on my '34 on '39 wheels which if I remember correctly are only 3-1/2" wide. They look good and seem to preform alright. I am in the planning stages for another project that is forthcoming. I would simply like to run a little taller tire on the rear and just concerned about the width of the A wheels.
Thanks for the replies thus far.

Here's a table of tire data I put together a few years ago. The Dunlop sold for 21" Model A wheels is getting pretty close to the OD you are looking at, and the Firestones aren't too far behind those.
