52 f1

Started truck today. Pulled out of garage and started to hear a clicking noise and clicking increases with RPMs. When I put clutch in noise goes away. Is that a bad throw out bearing? If not what could it be?

With your foot off the clutch pedal, the clutch release bearing should be away from the "fingers" of the pressure plate...... so that shouldn't be the clicking.

Thanks but it is clicking/knocking with clutch released. Knocking goes away with clutch depressed.

Maybe tranny input shaft ball bearing?

Sounds like a transmission issue.

The throw-out bearing would only be making noise as you depressed the clutch.
I found that the easiest way for this old guy (74) to pull a tranny in these is to remove the center transmission tunnel, disconnect the u-joint and slide the trans back, up and out. I even fabricated an extension for the arm on my engine hoist so I could come in through the passenger door and let the hoist do all the lifting.
Enjoy the adventure... Chap

When I owned my '50, I had the ring gear get cockeyed on the flywheel it was hitting the block. I could not figure it out until I started to pull it apart. I was youn and foolish back then so I had the local farm store tack weld around the flywheel.

Tack welded ring gear. Wouldn't be the first time that's been done....

It was above my skill level. Needs a complete tranny rebuild. While in there told mechanic do clutch.
