1932 Terminal Box and cover...

Did the 1932 vehicles hav a terminal box and cover like the Model A/AA's?

If so, what did it look like and what were the number codes on the box and lids?

Thanks.

Pluck

If you are referring to the box on the firewall, No, as far as I know it was discontinued in 1931.

Re: 1932 Terminal Box and cover...

A thought on why...

Central engine/dash harness was much more conventional with no interruption at firewall, ignition switch interrupted other side of coil like modern cars, there was a single central fuse on most '32, etc.
Lighting harness, though, was just like 1931 with only real differences being dimensional.
Thought...'32 had firewall and instrument panel assembled to chassis so that everything electric except maybe the domelight was affixed to a driveable chassis needing only a seat to go for a ride. Complete body was dropped down onto the firewall at final assembly...does this suggest that the Model A terminal box was there just as an easy place to hook up engine wires to the rest of the system on the assembly line?

Which then begs the question why wasn't it reinstated with the '33 models when firewalls were once again integral with the body?

Dang...clean forgot they made Fords after 1932!
Well, maybe by then someone was thinking...Why DID we place an interruption in all the important wires??? And put on WINGNUTS so any idiot with an OPPOSABLE THUMB could take 'em apart without tools and get them on the wrong pole or grounded??!?
We could just leave a '32 style harness dangling out of this hole until they throw it on the frame...
