Ford Anglia/Prefect/Model A I have 3 old prefect engines in various states of disassembly. But I don't have the distributor or Carb or Oil Pan. I was told the model A distributor would fit the Prefect. I think it is the 1.7L 10 hp model and is probably from 1948-50.
I would like to get one of these running again but don't know where to find parts. I have tried Small Ford Spares in the UK to no avail and others with the same result. This English engine and car were a scaled down model A ford. I had one in high school and it was a terrific car but need a lot of attention. I remember one time we packed in 5 adults and 6 small kids and went out for ice cream! Can anyone help? |
Re: Ford Anglia/Prefect/Model A Try Berts in Denver, CO USA (See Sticky for information).
Also there were about 4-5 different varities of oil pans that were used on the Model A engine. http://www.plucks329s.org/studies/studies.htm Pluck |
Re: Ford Anglia/Prefect/Model A Here's a few more to try in UK
http://www.belcherengineering.co.uk/ http://www.fsoc.co.uk/ http://poppartsplus.com/index.php/parts/electrical/ Have dizzy and recon carb listed. https://www.ford-aquaplane.co.uk/ If you want to hop them up a bit If that lot doesn't get you sorted then the things you are after turn up on eBay UK fairly often http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_od...&_sacat=131090 Cheers Juggs |
Re: Ford Anglia/Prefect/Model A Thanks for all the good information.

Re: Ford Anglia/Prefect/Model A The Prefect distributor was a common replacement for the A one as it had centrifugal advance, so no levers and things.
Belcher Engineering looks interesting: http://www.belcherengineering.co.uk/...tion/index.php |
Re: Ford Anglia/Prefect/Model A It would help if you filled out your location in your profile, if you are in the USA , call Anglia Obsolete in Vista California...they have everything you need.
