Awe inspiring A's
 

Just thinking aloud but the longer I own & work my 30' Tudor (about 7 yrs. now) and the more I read posts about problems & cures to them the more I am amazed at the thinking, engineering & precision manufacturing that produced these cars over 80 years ago, long before computers & the access to modern machine shops that we have today. I can't help but to marvel at the daunting task of not only building the car but probably needing to design & build the machines to make the parts to then build the car! I know this post might seem "child like" for someone in their late 60's but after following the progress on the "New Model A engine" updates from Terry, I am amazed at the ability they had "back in the day" to cast engine blocks & parts & then precision machine them on a massive scale, all from a process of mostly trial & error. Quite an accomplishment!

I've always wondered about the machines that made the machines, Look at a steam locomotive from the Civil War era, or mass produced firearms, large or small it took great minds to design and build things. Bob

This is off topic, but this story is how GM built the new Caddy ATS, from Bauxite Dirt to finished car. Yep, American's still build things -- Great things.
