Installing new seatbelts with retractors

OK I started to hate the regular seatbelts in my tudor, which flop out the door when opened, bang against the running board splash shield, and the hang there after the door is closed. So I bought a set of green (my tudor is green) seatbelts with retractors on e-bay.

The problem was that my regular belts were mounted horizontally through holes in the floor, while the new ones were designed to mount vertically (They must be vertical or the belt locking mechanism will not release the belts to pull them out.) to the base of the seat. Mounting to the seat base on a tudor is NOT a good idea since the seat is free to swing forward to allow access to the back seat.

So after pondering the problem for a while I came up with a solution. Some cutting, grinding, and drilling of some 1/8" steel angle iron produced two brackets that mount to the floor horizontally, and allow the seatbelt retractors to mount vertically near the seat bases. A neat solution that works perfectly. I hope this might help others who face the same task.
