V Regulator redundant with 1-wire Alternator ??

I am neatening my existing under-dash wiring AND getting ready for 12v and a new engine which will have a 1-wire alternator.

The battery wire thru the ammeter ( already reversed) connects to an under dash distribution block. Right now the block gets generator juice from the B terminal of the Voltage Regulator. The B terminal is where the alternator will initially connect with the generator wires from the other terminals removed.

After cut over from Generator to Alternator I'd like to eliminate the entire Voltage Regulator as it's just an eyesore on the firewall and is electrically redundant.

question: Have any of you with a 1-wire alternator removed your VR? Comments?

If you wire your alternator directly to the distributionblock through the ammeter thats all you need.
The VR is just a connection point now.
Preferably a bit heavier wire the stock to match the higher output from the alternator,

As stated the regulator can be a junction point for the A/B wires.
I kept my regulator in place to look stock but gutted it and installed a buss bar/wire inside it between the A and B connectors.
The field and ground are not used and can be cut off or taped up at the generator.
Except for the reversed ammeter wire, all the wires remain as stock.
To eliminate the regulator just join A and B. and eliminate the field and ground.

You can also hide a Master Fuse inside the regulator after you have removed the regulator internals.

If the fuse blows with engine running the alternator will be disconnected from the battery...may cause damage to the alternator...or did you have some alternative wiring in mind ?
