I just thought you Ford guys might find it interesting.

It has some good pictures and you can see a lot of the unique English Model 14 features.

It looks like a 32 but may be 33 or 34, I'm not sure.

Beautiful car. 1934 Model 14 with the small bore B.
A few came new to NZ, but I have never seen one.

The head lamps are interesting same as the Marchal ones fitted to the 1932 Models in France.

Mart, Thanks for posting that. I love to see what Ford had to offer across the pond! That particular car seems to be a true time capsule of the past. I have no idea of prices for these cars but the BIN price seems reasonable. Cheers - Bob

This is a well preserved example of a British built 1933 or 1934 Ford. Note the suicide front doors that were unique to these British - European built Fords for 1932, 1933 and 1934. The instrument panel is similar to the 1933 USA Fords, which could mean that this one is a 1933 model. Also note the skirted front fenders and different profile front bumper, both items indicating that it is not a 1932 model. It seems that the only modification is the dropped headlight bar? Very nice car.

With respect, the dropped headlamp bar was a feature of the Model 14, although in this particular case, it doesn't seem to be an original one as they were straight across without any arch in the center. The standard version was all black and the deluxe version had the stainless wrap like a '32. (An original deluxe version is shown below.) The acorn-shaped head lamps were British, made by Lucas, not by Marchal of France. As this is a deluxe model, its windshield frame was originally chrome plated.

According to the details of the ebay listing, this one is a '34. The Model 14 wasn't released until late '33 and there's no difference between the two years' versions.

What is not readily apparent about the Model 14 saloon is that the body is not the same as the '32 saloon body shown below. While subtle, the roof line, windshield opening, and side window opening were all changed with the result being that the Model 14 body looks more like the '32 North American and Australian Fordor sedan bodies above the belt line that the earlier Briggs-U.K. body with the obvious exception of how the doors are hinged.

For those of you with the Early Ford V8 Club's 1932 Ford book, Appendix 22 is devoted to the Model 14.

Model 14,s were built from 6th of October 1933 to the 9th of September 1934. Production consisted of 799 standard Tudors, 473 deluxe Tudors, 1614 deluxe Fordors and 65 Travellers Broughams (these were Tudors with a door in the back panel and no rear seat).They also built 215 14,s for police use and from the 6th of October 1933 to the 20,th of June 1934 60 V8 Imperial Limousines.
