Brewster green 1 Attachment(s)
Was trying to figure out if this color combo on my car was one of the original color combos from ford in 1932.I believe my car is Brewster green medium (dark green)and it is trimmed out with a lighter shade of green (maybe regular Brewster green?)The two greens are separated by what looks like a silver or whitish color pin stripe.

Here’s another shot of the color scheme
|
Re: Brewster green It does appear to be one of the original color combinations, namely Brewster green medium as the main body color with Brewster green light as the molding color. The original pin striping with that color combination was metallic silver.

Re: Brewster green I too have posted with regards to the colors you mention, & while my sport coupe is now black, I have found evidence of the green combo under the windshield gasket, & stranger yet some blue in the door jambs...If memory serves me correct I believe David had chimed in on that thread with the assumption that possibly production line color change overs as the vehicles progressed down the assembly line was the culprit. Re: Brewster green There are some areas that are worn on my car but I can’t find any other 1932 colors showing up anywhere. Usually those spots give away some of the original paint colors. I looked over the pin stripe it is silver , not white .
I think this may be a car to leave the paint as is , i originally was considering repainting it the same color. |
Re: Brewster green I would vote for leave it as is.

Re: Brewster green Wow!...….. looks awfully good, I'll further vote to leave it as is....

It’s hard to make out in the pics , but it has some patina where you can see road chipped areas and some areas where it has the spider web looking cracks on the surface. The interior shows some wear from age too. Haha the paint looks REALLY good from 10-15 feet 😂 I think I’m leaning towards leaving the paint/interior as is . I daily drive the car so it is kind of a plus , less freaking out when I hear any road gravel kick up. Not that I don’t love these cars 100% finished but the cars I’ve owned that had old paint with great patina I have left alone because there will always be less and less still out there .

Re: Brewster green It may be old paint, but it is highly unlikely that it hasn't been re-painted (perhaps in the original colors) and re-striped. Metallic silver striping wears off quickly with repeated washes and wax jobs and even the finest surviving original lacquer paint would not have the reflective quality of that exhibited on your cowl and body side.

Re: Brewster green Yeah , probably a really old repaint in the original color scheme was my guess . So there in lies my problem . It’s not original paint , so do I bother with keeping it? Or just bite the bullet and 100% disassemble the entire car and redo everything perfect .
It’s gonna be getting some pieces I’ve been collecting for the build installed at a shop in around 2 months . So I guess I gotta make up my mind by then, since that would be the time to do it. maybe I will flip a coin to decide haha |
Re: Brewster green Looks like shades of Bell System Green to me. Remember the old Bell System Telephone trucks?.......

Re: Brewster green Where is the rest of the car? I could use the parts ! I have an original 32 phaeton , still showing some of the original Brewstrer green paint, it looks just like yours .

Re: Brewster green 1 Attachment(s)
I have the same color on my nearly complete 5-window project ....

Re: Brewster green 2 Attachment(s)
My Model B Roadster had the same colors only reversed w/metallic silver strip. Always liked the color...stands tall in bright sun.
