radial tires
 

Can anyone give me some input on Diamondback tires.I have cokers 450-4.75-16 on the front of my AV8 (biasply) ,need to replace them.I want to go with the 550R16 from Diamondback (radial) they have the same look as the bias tire but are radial.

Not familiar with the brand of tire you are asking about for the front, but assuming you have bias tires on the rear, you should not mix radials and bias tires. There are a lot of posts here, if you do a search for "radial tires".

Diamondback sells radials made by various Japanese manufacturers. They add whitewalls using their own process. I've had a set on my '40 for several years and have been quite happy with them.

have a set of radial tires from Diamond Back on my 55 Ford and I love them. Radials sure improve the ride and handling of the car versus bias ply tires.

You're talking about their Auburn ones.. Go for the whole set.
Ive had the Diamondback w/w radials on my 56 fairlane for years and they have been fine.

I have them on my 41 Ford and my 36 Ford. They run great no issues. Made an improvement in the ride.

I recently bought a set of DB tires. No miles on them yet. They are made in Thailand, if that matters. They look fine.

I've had diamondback tires on my '47 since about 2006. They are mastercraft tires with a whitewall vulcanized on. Only issue I've had is that if you don't keep them properly inflated the whitewall will crack. They do drive nice. Also, the set I have doesn't really look like a bias ply, they're just wide whitewalls. I think I'll probably replace them with bias plies soon.

Running classic Cooper steel belted radials on my 40 wagon. $97 a piece at Discount tire. Rims are pre-67 F100 which take stock hub caps. Drive and look great. No Diamonbacks or Cokers for me.

Mine are blackwalls. All sizes are available. Mine are 15s. Rims are 6".

Me too, Diamond Back radials for several years with no problems. I went for the bias-ply look with the pie-crust edge on the side wall. They were really expensive! But I think they look great. No regrets.

I love these guys. Great service and quality tires. I had my whites over one year and while doing the rear brakes last month, a bubble was discovered on the inside of one tire. I sent a photo and Diamond Back sent a new tire, no questions asked, no cost. Pay the extra for upgraded tires, they ride excellent.

The Diamondbacks are superior to Coker tires in every way. If the ones you are interested in cost more, it is worth it. I wore out a set of 600-16s Coker tires in not a whole lot of miles and they said to me "well, they are for show cars not for road use" . Have 2 sets of the Auburn radials now on 2 of my cars and love them.

The Auburn radials line with the piecrust are complete new tires.

For those who don't know, don't confuse them with Diamondback's long standing process of vulcanizing a whitewall to an existing conventional radial tire made by any number of manufacturers.
