I think he is referring to the Mary Tyler Moore woody.
She signed her name inside.

It is definitely one of a kind.

It does not have a stock running gear?
It is registered as 1984, not 1931.
At one time it sold for $24,200.

Does anyone know how she became interested in this car?

I have some insight on it… as it belonged to one of the guys who I worked for who had a collection i maintained. Mainly Lincoln’s and early Ford’s and a few unique cars like this. It was in fact owned by Mary Tyler Moore and used on her estate. It had a later 4 cylinder pinto drive train if I remember. Battery on the passenger side seat. It was a custom built body that was quite the project for whoever built it. Ralph decided to part with it and it got sold a few years ago at the Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale. I was there with him and along with the auction driver in it when it rolled on stage. It sold then for a disappointing amount so if it brought 39k that was about double when Raloh had it.

He is passed now but was an avid Ford guy like me . He had one each of the Lincoln zephyr 3 window coupes years 37-42. I have plenty of photos of them and may post sometime .
It didn’t get many miles under his ownership on her but know it’s not really the A base that we know.
Just had an A facad….

Wasn't she in the paint business with her brother Kelly?
