More than likely i would just like to hear how they did it , drive shaft alteration , total rear axle change to early ford etc ??? Have questions , asking for a friend ( me)....:eek::D

I saw a pickup in a collection a few years ago. The 60 looked like it fit right in. He had an early Ford V8 front axle and I think V8 rear end. I do not think a T rear end and drive shaft would work from a strength standpoint.

Model T transmission design doesn't lend itself to any change. The U-joint & rear axle are designed for 25 horse power. The frame will twist anytime you drive on uneven surfaces due to built in flexibility. If you jack on one corner, the other wheels will stay on the ground for a pretty good jack height before another wheel would start to lift if the jack could even get it that high. The frame is limited on strength due to the size of the rails & members.

Plenty of T bodies have been put on later frames to make track Ts out of them but the T in its original form is better enjoyed as it is. The V8-60 can be mated to most of the 30s V8 cars or even the model A with some frame beef up but the 200 CID model A engine has more potential for power in modified form than the V8-60.

The V8 60 was right at home in the midget race cars but a lot of them just had an in and out box on them instead of a transmission. They are very short cars and don't have room for much drive train. A person could put one in using the transmission and rear axle that they were deigned for but the frame would likely need a lot of beefing up to hold all that stuff safely.

I’ve seen 3 or 4 of them over the years. They all had Model A rear ends in them.
I bought a V-60 to put in a Model T Speedster I have, but before I got that far a friend of mine bought an early midget without a motor, so I guess I saved myself some grief.

I am building a T Speedster with my 19 year old grandson andjust hapen to have a 60 running on a stand . However after some thought i am agreeing with you and may be saving myself some grief...:eek:
