ATI Auction for Stainless Steel Cars
 

Valley Dispatch, Pittsburgh Tribune has write up today on sale of 36 Ford, 60 T Bird and 67 Lincoln Conv. being moved to Indiana for auction on Labor Day weekend. Employees and city of Brenkenridge up in arms about it.

Sad to see that happen. Wonder why the company wants to sell them?

If they go to a private collector, they will rarely be seen again unless in a museum open to the public.

They are really rare and it's an interesting story about their fabrication but they aren't really a ford product since they were concept cars. I imagine they are heavy too.

In another article I read concerning the sale of these cars it was mentioned that Allegheny-Ludlum is currently in a dire financial situation and in addition to selling these prized cars for working capital, the company is even laying-off 30% of it's management force. They must really think these cars are gonna go for a fortune if they think the funds will be sufficient to get them back toward solvency. DD
