Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing |
Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing Now $113.
Yes, a little steep for something which can be bought from a flea market table for as little as $15. Or replaced outright with new glass version for about $30 (for a time period either version was used.) But we're talking Ebay here. Rich man's marketplace? Not THIS rich man that much. And not that rich - yet. Or possibly EVER. Joe K |
Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing Price way too high !!!!!
These are both the later style. The early 1928 has a boss at the outlet gas line connection. Some of the later cast iron bowls did not have a spring at the bottom. I have both styles, restored , and am asking $ 30.00 plus shipping. Ron Rude |

Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing Looks like the first place looser on the $200 one is the high bidder
on the two right now. Bob |
Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing No one is getting ripped off bidding too high on ebay. If the bidder is that dumb, tough cr#p and good for the seller.

Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing Time to sell my 8 or 9 extras. Better get them all cleaned up and painted later this week. Rod

Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing If two buyers bid up to 200.00 , How can you say they were ripped off?

Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing Re "got good value for his money"
Not at all. If someone(s) wants to get in a bidding war, THAT is not the sellers or Ebay fault. Live or on line bidding it amount to the same thing, some people don't know when to quit. |
Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing I find it hard to believe that anyone would pay that kind of Money for a cast iron filter bowl or even two bowls. They must live in remote areas, never go to swap meets, never been on Ford Barn or any National web sites to see what is for sale or wanted?

Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing Obviously the buyer thought it was worth it. Great. I had a young cousin who went to a farm auction when he and his dad were looking for a piece of equipment. When he came home with a seriously overpriced piece, his dad was furious. His logic.... "the other guy thought it was worth almost as much as I did".

Re: Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing I agree no gun to the head but have you ever met a person that was not quite normal or a little demented or senile or old age had caught up with them ? I suggest to sell to a person in this circumstance for many times what an item is worth is lacking in integrity and moral fibre !
