I acquired the header info by contacting them thru email via their website. The next day I had a response on yes we make them and have them in stock. 1 phone call to order and 4 days later it arrived. Its a very nice piece.

Re: 1934 ford windshield header panel

I'm sort of hijacking this thread because my question concerns a SAR header panel.

I had mine delivered recently but before strating installation I'd like to know (and see pics) how it's installed.
Would it originally have had brackets?
Or does it simply screw onto the roof structure/wood bows?
How was the finish? Body colour, wood grained or covered by headlining material?

The original windscreen motor has been replaced by an aftermarket item but did the original fit behind the header panel or was there a hole in the panel for it?

Mine is going in a 1934 5 window coupe.

Re: 1934 ford windshield header panel

It does not have brackets just screws (I believe: trim washers for the screws on the bottom) holding the header to the inner structure. The original holes should still be in place unless they were filled during restoration. Most of the originals I have seen are black paint finish. The metal header gets covered with headliner material and installed after the rest of the headliner. This allows access to the wiper motor. Yes there are two holes for the two wiper motor control knobs. Is the SAR panel without the factory holes?

Mine was an original that fit in the factory holes with a little persuasion. Very few, if any pictures on line about the header panel and wiper motor Installation.

Anyone have pictures of how the wiper motor is installed? Also, pictures of the header panel installation would be a big help to our fellow restorers.

Does anyone have an outer header panel. I think any 33 or 34 closed car would work, thank you Chuck S.

SAR panel is blank without any holes. I was lucky to source one so I'm not complaining. :)
I have a Sedan Delivery and that's the first of my '34s to have had a header panel (in all others it had been removed prior to my ownership) and it's covered with headlining material but I didn't know if that's how it was meant to be. The Delivery has an aftermarket window wiper motor and that evidently sticks through the header panel so I will have to make a cut-out for the motor on this panel as well.
