new to the T hobby but have worked on my model A for about 6 years.
(I have a clue)
My problem is the new Brass Works radiator is hitting both fenders.
The old radiator is gone so I can't compare.
The only way I can see to make it fit is to slot the holes in the radiator bracket holes about 1/4 in. then I would still need to slot the fender holes as well.
That may give me 1/8 in gap between the fenders and radiator.
I have loosened all fender and running board bolts. It helped some but not enough.
I do not want distort thes fenders. This car is very nice.
I don't want to destort the radiator either, Brass is not cheap.
Has anyone else had to overcome this type of problem?
any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you contacted Brass Works? Their radiators fit other cars OK.

Do the mounting holes line up? The only part that might hit would be the mounting tabs on the radiator. What is the center to center of the mounting holes? Can you post a photo?

Yes you are correct, it's only the tabs that are in contact. Should there be a spacer under the fenders that would raise it above the radiator tabs?
I'm not close to car at the moment for measurements and pic's. But side to side the bolt holes line up perfect.
Presently it's just frame, then fender directly on top of frame, then the wood strip for hood on top, then bolts?

Are these reproduction fenders? Often the repro fenders need to be trimmed some. The set on my '15 had to be trimmed a bit to clear the hood clash strips and also several holes had to be drilled. It would not surprise me if your fenders needed to be trimmed a bit at the front so the radiator could sit on top.


Do you have the leather strips that go between the frame and the radiator?

Yes the leather is in place.
Is there any way to determine if my fenders are after repro?
You stated (so the radiator could sit on top)
Should the fenders sit on top of the radiator ears?

if you go down to the photo of the radiator mounted in the car, are your fenders notched the same? Or are they different type without the notch? Or?

I had a similar problem with my 1909. Both repro fenders and radiator. It was disappointing. I still am not sure where the problem was.

I would like to thank everyone for their input and attempted help. I kept working with it till I got it resolved today. I slotted the holes in the radiator tabs about an eighth of an inch that will cover up with the washers and then I loosened all of the fender bolts and was able to slide it back clamp it down and Slot those holes about a quarter to three eighths of an inch and tighten everything down and everything misses fine.
