Does anybody restore temperature gauges?

I have a very nice looking temperature gauge for my 1935 Phaeton but it appears to be totally empty. No red fluid shows at all even in boiling water. Does anybody repair these units? Jim in San Jose.

Check with Williamson's in Arkansas

John Wolf in Cleveland OH area. He did my 32 dual temp. Perfect work, not expensive for the effort. Some instrument shops can be pricey.

How about " The Temperature Gauge Guy " in Vermont ? Also check Hemmings, under services offered.

Re: Does anybody restore temperature gauges?

I sent Williamson's an email about repairing the stock temp gauge in my '39 p/u which had the sender cut off at the back of the gauge. They responded with a detailed email and a price which I considered very reasonable for the work involved. I decided to continue use my after market gauges for the time being but I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. I've read some reviews about slow return times but IMO quality does take time.

Personally after my one time with Williamson's I would never use them again...Again that's just me

I talked to the guy in Vermont who advertises in Hemmings. He specializes in temp. gauges. I plan on sending my unit to him. Thanks to everybody on the Barn who responded. Jim in San Jose

What’s wrong with the one right there in a San Jose suburb? Speedometer, inc.
718 Emerson, Paloalto, CA

It’s accross the tracks from Stanford and a couple of blocks south of university av. On Emerson.
I think a block east off the tracks.
I have had them do several gages in the last 20 years, including the Mercury tubed gages.
Just had a speedo done there this year for a 53 Ford.
They even have phone number.

My experience with Ron at Williamson's has been all positive. Had an issue with one gauge I returned. They took care of it right away. Sometimes they are very busy, so it may take awhile. Ron is very good at communicating. Would use them again.
