Holley carburetor List # R-6113 5 Attachment(s)
What does this carburetor fit, I know it's aftermarket, but what is the application.
|
Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 A 2bbl 'teapot' carburetor.
Aftermarket? Holley made them for Ford. It could be a 'Restored by Holley' carb or New Old Stock / New Old Replacement Stock but it looks too clean to have been sitting for years. This is just a guess to see how wrong I am when someone who really knows answers you. '54 - 239ci, '55 or '56 Y-block 272 or 292(?) V8 . |
Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 It is brand new, and yes, I have had it for 20-25 years tucked away in a cabinet. Just discovered I still had it. The only haystack or "towering infernos" I have seen with is look is the 4 barrels. None of my Holley books show it and I have been able to get no information from google.

Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 Some trucks used them also.
|
Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 According to the Holley listing I have, it's aftermarket for a Volkswagon dune buggy believe it or not. Probably released around 1970. Holley model 1901 carb.

Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 Also the same type carb used on '52 - '53 Mercury's and 1952 Lincoln 317's

Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 It appears to be a HOLLEY 1901 2V Series.
Are there any ID Stamping Nos on the mounting flange? |

You weren't here when I posted. How did you do that? ;) |
Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 I don't know. I saw your post right after I posted the info. A cyber space thing I guess. LOL

Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 The Holley tea pots were used on the 279 F700's, and four barrels on International, Reo, and White trucks. The truck models were mounted on, or incorporated a vacuum controlled governor.

Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 VW sounds plausible (beach buggies ).
I wonder why such an out-of-date design was chosen? |

This toy had one on it. |
Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 |
Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 What I meant in my message was that the Bug Spray carb was made from the 3 bolt Holley 94 type carb with a four bolt base. The one Dick showed was a Holley 1901 model also made for a VW buggy.

Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 Sorry, disregard my last post. I misread Dmsfrr's post.

A pretty fair amount of sand here but no beach or ocean. Desert off-road racing. That red 2dr looks like a serious beast. |

And a Starliner to boot ! Sal |
Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 I always liked the Starliner,,but never saw many of them, and never saw one for sale until I was in my 50's and then I could not afford them. They became sought after, and seemed to be pretty rare.

Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 For all concerned, I re-researched and allyall are correct, it is a Holley 1901, and has VW connecting linkage on it. It does look new after 25 years or more because I have had it in a sealed box and in a cabinet. I will accept any reasonable offers on this.

Re: Holley carburetor List # R-6113 Listing it for sale on a VW owners webpage / website will probably get you more responses.
Or even on ebay ? . . |
