He was a Caddy guy and had/owned one that sat in my yard for awhile. Repo man stored it there. Pink slip and original paperwork written/signed , by him, in glove compartment. Could have had that beauty 'cheap', if would have had two more dimes to rub together..bummer !

BTW...Anyone recognize that windshield design? Was 'Duke' Hallock making stuff in those days ?

Hey Rick

I had to go off and look that up as well - the windshield glass is '39 Chrysler, the surround and posts cast and machined by the builder John Athan

my wife and I go to the Elvis weekend in Collingwood, Ontario every August. There are usually 100 plus impersonators. She likes the impersonators and I like the parade. The parade is simple, no floats, no bands but all vintage vehicles and every car has an Elvis in it.there are lots of pink Cadillacs and Army trucks and this year one Model A. People from all over Canada and United States attend. Many dressed like they are still teenagers with saddle shoes, blue suede shoes sideburns. , memories and more memories ! So yes Elvis was in a Model A it just wasn't the real Elvis.

THANKS Buddy :) ! That guy was at the lead of the pack, with that windshield ! Haven't seen another and it is just perfect on that car. Hm, I liked the car as Elvis drove it, but that's just me. Wished I'd taken machining, then I'd have one of those for my '30 roadster !

Pictures are at the cottage unfortunately. Usually a 4 day event with the entire downtown turned into an Elvis circus. Stage in the middle of town with a couple thousand free chairs, most restaurants and bars have an Elvis at the door. Tattoo artists, souvenir vendors all over. Dogs and pigs on a leashe dressed like Elvis. Mammoth speakers all over town on utility poles blaring Elvis. A weekend not so to forget. The finals are in the arena and tickets for that cost. This year The real Precilla showed up and chose to befriend me. So if that whets your whistle.
Google, Collingwood, ontario, Canada Elvis weekend.
Regards, Wayne

You can also enjoy wonderful scenery, great fishing, fine Canadian cuisine and Canadian beer. All kinds of camping, motels, chalets and condominiums. Only an hour from Toronto, 4 hours from Detroit and 3 hours from Niagara Falls. Golf course that I like better than Pebble Beach.
Wayne
P.s. If anyone should decide to attend send me a private message and I will help if I can.

Today being his 80th, GI Blues is on the TV, brings back memories being stationed in Germany during the early 60s, long sleeved khakis, saddle back garrison caps, Frankfort Kasernes and the Frankfort Bahnhof location. Great songs too, GI Blues, Big Boots and Wooden Heart.

Ironic, I was back in Germany when he died. I played his music all night long and got drunk bigtime.

Well, I can provide a picture of Elvis in an A. In fact, not ONE but TWO Elvises (..shouldn't that be "Elvi"?) I think one of these went to the wrong wig shop!!

Also, various Elvi in various other Ford vehicles, and one BigHead Elvis in the obligatory pink Caddie. :) I think the Blues Brothers got their dates mixed up??!!

Also, for your enlightenment (and to fly the Aussie flag), note the pair of Elvi in the back of a 1960-61 FB Holden ute. Or is that supposed to be 3? Like Ford, Holden will cease production here in 2016 or 2017.

All these photos were taken from the street parade at the annual Elvis Festival, held in Parkes, NSW, Downunder, this very weekend. Great timing!

Elvis festivals can generally be relied upon to provide (a) some excellent machinery, and (b) some truly awful Elvis impersonators. Both are entertaining in their own special ways! :D I hasten to add that I wasn't there - I just lifted these from the web.

(N.B. Whitewall Advisory for some photos)
