Thought I'd share this with you early Ford V8 lovers. While vacationing(Apr-May) in the south France found this 2 miles from where I was staying. Not to molested, sold new in '32 in France.Original deuce V8 engine with alu oil pan.Correct uncut intake, fuel pump, heads, exhaust manifolds & spark plug wire conduits.Water pumps, dist, coil, carb, air cleaner been replaced.Tried to buy it but NFS.Found other 32 parts(luggage rack bar, sedan dash w/gloveboxes and pedal assy's) in another town but to large to fit in my suitcase or carry on luggage.

I wonder what make of carburettor is fitted onto that 1932 engine, it looks as if it bolts straight onto the 32 manifold.

That's the second one Ive heard about in France, there is one that was for sale in Spain a few months age( expensive) and there is /was,not sure of it sold or not, a stock as a rock 32 roadster on the South coast of England that I tried to buy a while ago.

That looks like a really nice example......would have made my holiday for sure.Have you got some kind of radar for these things lol.?

It is amazing that the original fuel pump type is still being run. That car would make a good study for the EV8 club, sort of like the Rip Van Winkle model T touring that was found a few years ago and detailed in a series of pictures, a car that was put up in a shed when new.

There's a better '32 roadster for that purpose on Long Island, New York. It still has the original top, upholstery, and paint and is the subject of a forthcoming article in "The V-8 Times".

Started making small talk with a guy in the village about where I am from and what my hobbies are(early V8 Fords).Lucky I speak French.Lo and behold he mentioned a Ford roadster in a garage just steps away.Got him to arrange to have a look at it.Besides the roadster the owner has a collection of radiators and shells of many French cars from the late 20's and early 30's and I mean rare stuff. Then he invited me in to see the rest of the collection which I won't get into but it was like a mini museum.American Pickers dream.Sleepless nites to say the least.

I'm far from a '32 guy, but did the stock '32 speedometer really go up to 140 mph? Hard to believe..........

Re: 32 Roadster in France

France is in Kilometers.....90 mph x 1.62 = 145.8 kph......the US was supposed to convert to the metric system over 30 years ago....Canada beat them to the punch and did it first...then the US never followed up. For us older guys in Canada, we are still in the MPH mode. Robert

Probably kilometers - 100 kilometers = 62 mph.

The owner seems to keep on top of maintenance, all the hoses and clips look new. The carb appears to be a much more modern adaption. pretty nice car, it has to be said.

Mart.

That's a fine looking '32 Roadster. Hemmings Classic Car magazine March 2010 issue has what they call the "Worlds most Authentic" 32 Ford Roadster featured.

I think a 1932 Roadster is tops. They started the Roadeter craze and it is still going strong.
