1936 in Oakland. CA. About a month later an aunt took me to Idaho and raised me for 13 years. I ran off to Calif and been here ever since. Trying to save enough to get back to the ranch I left there in Idaho. 55K acres, but we didn"t own a sq. ft. of it. The home ranch is now houses in a development called Avimore. Three miles downstream from where I lived, near Stack Rock.

1963. Decendent of one of the first families to come in and stay in sw/nw Va/Nc, I'm still here. Kids got the ancestry DNA thing for me, started not to do it but did. I found at this moment I have over 140,000 dns matches in the US and around the world (that's just the ones who have had their DNA examined), no question many of you, like it or not are from my bloodline or I from yours. :p

1967 - I inherited my A from my dad he was born in 1941 and had his first A when he was 15. We lost him two years ago, and that's when I got into the hobby. I've built many Model A's as hot rods, but this one will always be original out of respect for my dad. Plus, the everyone I have met in the Model A hobby are all wonderful people.

First Model A 1955 at the ripe old age of 14
Most recent Model A (#3) in 2010 after not having one for 50 years.

7-7-40 and my A is a 1930. bought it in 1957 also have a 1946 Super Deluxe Coupe Sedan going under a full restoration at the moment.

DOB. January 23, 1941. Can’t believe the number of my completed years - owned a few (3) Model A’s over those past years. I’m rebuilding (body off - frame up) a ‘28 Sport Coupe, as my current project.

I know us younger guys may annoy you older fellows with our know it all attitudes, but I'd love to sit down with you guys and pick your brains clean. You guys carry so much knowledge and it's appreciated when you share it.

1964, I am in MD but you live in my ancestoral 'hood. Surname Grubb on fathers side and my grandmother was a Kelly. Grandmom came from the Roanoke area, Dads family Galax? maybe?? Names ring a bell?

I do know Grubbs, my mother was a cox, was born in galax. The grandfather that settled in this area was born in Lancaster Pa 1740 I believe. They lived an interesting life and I’m sure relatives, brothers sister stayed in Pa. being an old family is why I’m sure I’m related to so many here. I suppose the county has shrunk a bit, Greencastle Pa is no longer in Lancaster Co., its directly above Hagerstown MD. I live right on the PA line, just below Lanc. Co. and spend quite a bit of time there. I have been told that Grubb is somewhat of a common VA name. My great grandfather had 2 families. My grandfather (born in the late 1800's was from his first wife/family. Story i was told he left them and started over! Dad did a bit of research and went back to the homestead in the early 80's, said that not much had changed in the last century and he did run into some relatives. Unfortunately that part of our past died with him, I would like to re-research it one of these days.
