Had a plugged up rad. Got it re-cored and installed in the Roadster. Running cooler now!

Snagged a hose to extend the solvent sprayer to clean the varnish out of the fuel tank,began soaking and tapping on the winshield frame retainer screws..

6-21-17 Worked on getting the pesky, stuck windshield frame screws loose on my '31 AA project. With repeated soaking with Kroil one finally broke free. More body work getting the body arrow straight, a-lot of block sanding. I learned body and paint work while going to HS and college way back in the 60s and discovered then that the greater part of a really nice paint job is the preparation. This will most likely be one of my last ground-up projects, just don't seem to have the energy I had years ago. I am also teaching my coming 10 yr old grand-son what this car hobby is all about and how to do it right. We restored the coupe when he was 7, a CJ7 jeep when he was 8 and started on this 31 AA SWB last July when he was 9. This weekend we entered his '29 coupe in a local small car show, he sounded like a encyclopedia on Model As, I am proud as can be that he "Gets It" and has been this way for the last couple of years.

Did the final touches on putting Bonnie back together after putting in the correct tappets (actual solid '32 tappets) for the B cam I installed a year ago. I had the skinniest base (0.990" aftermarket adjustable) tappets riding on the B's lobes which Henry redesigned for a 1.187" base on a solid lifter. Believe me, grinding valve stems to get the right lash is pure joy.
With a full time job, she went back together slowly, and tonight, I reinstalled the front bumper, splash apron, and hood. My short wife had fun reaching over the hood with a screw driver whilst I spun the nuts on the two bolts from under the dash for the back hood bracket.

Took 3 starters apart and put 2 starters back together 3 times. Practice run for rebuilding and will learn to test on another day. AA beginner and loving it :)

worked on trunk latch and started to replace the rod that operates the door latch (29 coupe)

Got back out and pulled the radiator,it flow tested good.My aim is to make it a dependable runner.I bought the car for a good price from a guy who threw it together to sell,the body alone is worth what i paid for it.Needless to say its in "unrestored condition"head gasket,belt, hoses, tube on tap this weekend,plus a gas tank cleaning..

Will finish adjusting the brakes on the new drums and shoes from randy gross. I can feel the stopinnnng power already and its not off the jack stands.

I just got my wheels back from the sand blaster, now I can mount my new Goodyears and get rid of the Montgomery ward tires.:)

I put in the springs and spacers on the wishbone ball, I was happy it tightened up nice looks like no wear in bell housing like I expected. My first order from Berts very good fast service!

I worked on headlight/cowl light problems. Have most fixed with one to go. Main problem was the passenger headlight was very dim. I took the bucket off and removed some paint on the headlight bar for a better ground. That solved the worst of the issues. I'll try to fix the last issue tomorrow.

Today I put the last hub on the rear end for my '31 Coupe project. Rear end now completely rebuilt minus spring. Got out rear wheels, already painted, and hopefully will get tires on them tomorrow. Soon I will be able to roll that rear end under the chassis. Wet here today in Kiwi. :) Happy motoring.

Fixed the knocking noise at start up. Turns out the dipper tray in the pan had pin holes in it, so no oil to rods at start up. Soldered hole, checked bearing clearance, all is well. I'm relieved and happy, the engine is happy, no leaks, all is well.

I finally got the body off the Roadster and pressure washed the frame, engine and tranny, looks good. The body well that's another story, I will have to breakdown and buy a drivers rear quarter. looks like a tree fell on it the upper revile is gone the other side may be fixable if a good one is used as a pattern it's not hurt as bad.

'31 Budd cab AA. Well I worked on the windshield the last couple of days, about the only thing I have never done with an A. First was soaking the screws on the frame with Kroil so they would come loose and then taking the top off of the frame. The glass was really stuck in place and I didn't want to bend the frame removing it. Tom on the board suggested using kroil, an oil I use all the time, I sprayed the junction of the frame and the gasket last night, this morning the glass about fell out. Now to clean it up and prepare for paint and decide where I'll get the glass for the CCPU. Things are moving along nicely. Yesterday the weather was nice without rain so I took my '29 CCPU for a ride, life is good...

Started my 30 which has been sequestered in the garage for the last 6-7 months. Started right up and ran well. Noticed the fuel shut off valve under the dash has leaked a little. Guess I'll have to repair it, are the available repair kits worth it or just replace the whole valve? Thanks and happy 4th to all of you. I was in the Navy during the transition from sail to steam..:p:p
