Re: Green Wheels, Really??? Mitch,
So that equates to about $50 per wheel powder coat and almost $20 wheel to blast. $25 a wheel is about normal... I think some powder guys do AOK and some don't. It really depends on the condition of the wheels and if they are good enough to powder.. or if you care if there's any pits or not. I've done lots of wheels and yes, they are a pain to prime/sand/prime/sand/paint... but when done well they look better than powder and will still stay for many years. Personally I've done so many apple green wheels lately I'm really starting to get use to them and LIKE them!! Some cars just look great with them ( like 31 MODEL A - Ed's) coupe looks sharp. I'm struggling with what to paint the 68C when the time comes... brewster green with apple green wheels or Ford Maroon and red or black wheels/tires. Is there any web link for digital coloring to show body style.. paint and wheel color for a visual? Larry |

Re: Green Wheels, Really??? 31 Model A, thanks for the link. The red might look good. I am now thinking of painting my spare to see what looks good. Unless I win the lottery, the whites stay for now. My wife refuses to call it Maroon, she thinks I'm crazy and calls it brown.
On the line of powder coating, what type of paint did they use in the old days? BTW, I'm spray painting them until I decide what looks good. Try that with chrome.. :-) |
