Thank you Truckdog and Karl. This helps verify the frame and also the axle centerlines. Now to measure twice... then thrice.. and double check the double checked measurements. Thank you to everyone who helped out with this.

Thanks 411Ton. I think I have almost all I need. I am looking for a curb weight of the truck. I know mine has a custom flat bed but a 1 ton with 8 foot bed should get me in the ballpark...I hope.

So I do have another question in regards to the radiator support bracket. I am thinking(dangerous I know), that I am missing a bracket that bolts into the frame brackets on either side. I am familiar with the '48-52 mounting which to me looks similar. I have a 1949 school bus, but that is another topic....

Do you have the large 'U' shaped radiator support and fender holder-upper? That ties everything together and mounts to the front crossmember with two large head carraige bolts and little else. There are springs like valve springs under the crossmember so the whole front clip has some 'give'. In this photo I show some temporary stay rods made from conduit so I could drive around without the front clip while I dialed in this transplanted six.

The bracket that holds the radiator attaches to the frame at the location of the two holes in the frame that are closest to the front of the frame, just above the gusset on either side. The bracket itself was isolated from the frame with a web material. I used solid 1/4" rubber. The two rigid upper radiator hoses act as stabilizer at the top of the radiator. No need for any additional support from the firewall.

Thanks for the info GB. Looks like I am in the market for the rad support(s). I don't have either piece. I will see if the "U" frame from the 49' School bus is close enough this weekend. But the lower cross piece that bolts into the frame is what I need to go find now apparently.

Do you have the OEM 1940 Tonner radiator with the correct top and bottom tanks? If so I can get you the dimensions of that support bracket and based on what I see of your fabrication skills you should be able to make that bracket. There might be an “off the shelf” piece of channel material that comes close enough to be able to make a bracket that holds the radiator vertically and also anchors it to the frame. The radiator size and tank configuration that fits that location is important. There are radiator hose/fan clearance issues with the two lower radiator hoses that can come into play if the vertical location of the radiator isn’t correct.

I have "a" radiator. I am not sure if it is the correct radiator. I can measure it up this weekend. I can definitely fab one up if I have some dimensions. Thanks for the help.
