Re: JC Whitney now carparts.com? It wasn’t that long ago ( I guess!) that you could get a short block from Sears
We used several and they were very good as I remember....no problems Maybe expectations weren’t as high as today. But I recall they were just a few hindered dollars in the 60-early 70’s Maybe I’m just an old codger?? |
Re: JC Whitney now carparts.com? JC Whitney along with Warshawski and Company, I remember from the 50's and 60's in Chicago located at 1917-1919 Archer Ave! They were both a junkyard and accessory parts place and carried or could get anything automotive somehow! I bought a used engine there pretty cheep and it was worth pretty much what I paid for it. Sadly over the years, it is not what it once was and company names history, is all that is really left of the J C Whitney reputation. I have inserted a link of the Rise and Fall of this once great place for parts!

Re: JC Whitney now carparts.com? Did anyone here ever buy "Winky" the white cat from them? Just curious.

Re: JC Whitney now carparts.com? Many years ago I had a 1956 Corvette. They managed to get a pair of Hooker side pipe headers for the car. I never saw them for sale or even listed anywhere else. It did take about 3 months to get then though.
