I played around with green wheels for a couple years, just because the green wheels came with a set of tires I bought, but went back to the beige color when I got my 19" radials. I like them much better now.

Re: Green Wheels, Really???

The green wheel color that the Ford Motor Company used in the early '30's, was originally named for it's color - "Baby Shit Green".

However, the name "Baby Shit Green" was seen by some to be 'off putting', so the boys over at the Marketing and Sales Division quickly over-ruled the original name and renamed it to something that would be more appealing. Hence the name we now all now it by: "Apple Green" - so much more 'user friendly'.
But I think the image of the initial description still fits the color.

Luckily both my taste and my opinions (as my wife is fond of saying) "Ain't worth shit ! " So by all means - if you like it - wear it proudly !

Anybody knows that has raised a baby and changed it's nappies, the substance left is not baby shit green, but more as baby shit brown. Anyone that has been late in changing a nappy, cleaning it off the walls next to the crib does not match Apple Green wallpaper either!!! Personal experience....and no bullshit!!!

Carl,

Judging by rear rims in the second picture, you made the change from green to beige gradually. One wheel at a time or two?

Re: Green Wheels, Really???

Jason in TX, that is one sweet A. I love the planes behind it also, very cool.( been to Wright- Patterson museum many times )

I might just paint up two and see how she looks. Straw was an original color on the P/U and is choice number 2. Before I powder coat the wheels, I'll use a spray can.

The whites will stay until after my wife's 69 resto-mod Camaro is done.
The Maroon (brown to me) stays until after I'm gone.

Thanks all, some very nice cars out there. I still love the green what ever it's called. Cheers:):):)

Actually, I just kept switching things around -- using tires that still had tread on them until I was able to get my new radials along with newly powder coated wheels. Sold the green ones when I got everything put together. Still have the black ones.
